The Australian Defence Force (ADF) Cadets aims to be recognised by the community as developing youth with a sense of purpose, responsibility, respect of self and others, leadership ability and a commitment to voluntary service.

It provides opportunities for young Australians aged between 12½ and 18 years to obtain personal challenges and growth, enhanced self-esteem and self-discipline, and adventurous enjoyment in a military setting.
